Il y a maintenant un moment, j'avais commencé ce blog, de manière à pouvoir communiquer d'une façon sympathique et détendue sur mon travail , la vie, et tout ce qui s'enduit, je reprends l'idée mais je vais alimenter dorénavant le blog en ayant à l'esprit que mon site officiel est en anglais et donc, incompréhensible pour beaucoup ... voilà

Bon, difficile de trouver le temps d'écrire sur mon cher petit blog, et je le regrette , car, même si mon site www.jeffroland.org est fonctionnel, beaucoup d'éléments sont en anglais , ce qui ne convient pas à beaucoup d'entre vous , donc , je fais un effort et je vais concocter un système de transfert entre le blog ici-même et le site , et réciproquement, enfin dans les deux sens bref, ça va marcher, vous allez voir !

j'ai passé un excellent moment à Cannes, au Salon d'Art Contemporain, accueilli par l'excellentissime équipe de L'Art à Part - espace Nadine Servant, qui depuis m'a pris sous son aile, en décidant de présenter quelques unes de mes oeuvres dans leur non moins excellentissime galerie à Ollioules, près de Marseille !!!

Partageant mon espace avec la charmante Anaka, j'ai pu montrer mon travail à de nombreux visiteurs, sous un soleil de plomb, comme qui ça arrive aussi qu'il fasse beau, courage, les beaux jours arrivent, on croise les doigts, mais d'abord quelques photos du Salon !!

Prix de la sculpture de la ville de Cannes attribué à Râak, une artiste représentée par Nadine Servant, ici en compagnie de Juanita Sonigo, organisatrice du Salon, et d'Eric harson, adjoint à la culture de Cannes.

Bon, là, c'est moi, donc, avec "I still believe in Magic" derrière, dans l'espace l'Art à Part

Petite réunion devant le stand d'Anaka et moi-même, pour célébrer le premier anniversaire de la galerie l'Art à Part !!

Quelles autres nouvelles ?

Vous vous souvenez peut-être que j'avais participé à la Bible de l'art singulier ... et bien, en raison du succès emporté par le livre , une séance d'exposition - dédicace intitulée Les métamorphosées se déroulera au Musée de la Halle St Pierre, Rue Ronsard à Paris, les 12 et 13 juin 2010, en présence des artistes présentés dans le livre. j'y serai et serai ravi de vous rencontrer !! A cette occasion également , nous - les artistes - allons réaliser des éditions originales uniques de Bible métamorphosées, c'est à dire que la couverture sera remplacée par une oeuvre unique d'artiste, en vente sur place au prix unique de 150 euros . Mais c'est aussi l'occasion d'une rencontre ... si vous êtes à Paris, ou dans les environs, je serai enchanté de vous rencontrer en chair et en os , enfin , j'espère pour vous, plus en chair qu'en os !!!

Et pour finir en un feu d'artifice, pour ceux qui ne facebookisent pas, voici une de mes dernières réalisations, une des plus grande, intitulée : Ultimate Fragility of Civilization, elle mesure 135 x 55 cm et c'est une technique mixte ( avec surtout de l'huile :)

Presque trois mois sans billet ... que se passe t-il ?

je passe beaucoup de temps sur mon site officiel www.jeffroland.org , il est vrai , la présentation est en anglais, mais petit à petit , j'essaye de traduire les articles .

Cela dit, le blog me manque un petit peu, mais c'est une question de temps, je viens d'aller animer un atelier à Rome , dans une résidence d'artiste gérée par l'artiste italienne Barbara Reale. excellente expérience, peinture en commun, beaucoup de partage, et je cherche à reproduire cette expérience. je suis aussi en quête d'un atelier plus grand dans lequel je pourrais mettre en oeuvre des projets plus ambitieux;

Parallèlement je 'occupe toujours des expositions ayant lieu au Château Corbin à Liverdun , en y recevant des artistes de qualité, en ce moment et cela jusqu'au 21 Mars, je reçois Nabarus et Sarah Patroni, deux artistes singulières. Leur travail est très différent l'un de l'autre , des univers poétiques et sensibles pour Nabarus, graphite et couleurs, mélés à des collages très subtils, et des scènes pleines d'humour et d'invention pour Sarah Patroni, tableaux peints et assortis d'objets détournés. C'est un grand bonheur de contempler aussi bien une oeuvre que l'autre. venez voir ça !!!

j'ai également participé à la Bible de l'art Singulier 2010/2011, un beau livre présentant de nombreux artistes singuliers, ou outsiders si vous préférez... et j'y figure , figurez-vous haha !! Je dispose aussi de quelques exemplaires à la vente, c'est un cadeau sympathique, et il ne coûte que 29 euros, contactez moi, ou venez à Liverdun .

la prochaine exposition à laquelle je participerai aura lieu à Cannes, au Palm Beach, et oui, pour le deuxième salon d'art contemporain , je ferai partie des artistes présentés par l'espace l'Art à Part, en compagnie de la charmante et talentueuse Anaka - également dans la Bible de l'art singulier - , cette expo est au mois d'avril, du 21 au 26 Avril, donc, avec une vente aux enchères organisée le dernier jour !!

par la suite je serai en Belgique et en Italie à des dates qui restent à préciser, puis en Norvège en Septembre.

Encore pardon pour cette absence, et pour ce recours exclusif à la langue anglaise, je pense pouvoir trouver un équilibre en reprenant le blog en français et en laissant la majorité du site officiel en anglais , chacun son espace !!!

Last Works, an invitation and a few comments about my work

"Communicate" is one of my paintings in oil on wood, which is among my favourite environment , the feel of wood and its aptitude to suck the oil in so quickly makes it possible to work quite fast for an oil painting and the textures can be developed to the infinite, I am trying here to depict an attempt to communicate between people , or things that have nothing in common, which is a recurring theme in my work. People wrongly assume they need to resemble their friends or have points in common to get along when what wa need and thrive for is mixing with others in as far they are different and challenge our conceptions ...

"We Idealize Ourselves in Dreams" is an oil on canvas, quite a large one, which is about games of power, yet another theme that is dear to my heart, how we can imagine that when we have established a structure of relationships these are giving us a wrong idea of what we are, and what we would have dreamed to build as a relationship if power had not been involved, or, to the contrary, we can cynically see also the dream that is much more basic of people who thrive for a position in high society whatever this position might be, thinking that it is better to be the servant of a king to be the master of our own life... cynical but, human .

"From Outside" is another oil on canvas, which shows how groups are formed in solidarity to apprehend the unknown, how we find suddenly that we have something in comon with those we distrusted just the day before, in order to push back the invasion of what we find strange, or unfit to our expectations, the irony of this is that the centre of the scene and the importance given goes to the stranger we want to outcast, thus the fabrication of martyrs, and so on ...

"Pataphysical King and a Rose" is a palette painting in oil on canvas, I call a palette painting a canvas which has served as a palette for another painting, on which i leave remnants of oil to dry and form thick impasto, and build a picture around, or with them, there are a few in my works... this one is dedicated to Pascha, who knows who she is, and her love of pataphysics, the old discipline invented by Rabelais in Gargantua, a school of thought whose main motto is "Do whatever you please", presented like a philosophy of the future, and prefiguring the advent of surreal and dadaist thought. Here, there is a rose, to both represent my present to Pascha and to link this clin d'oeil to French literature to another symbol of this literature namely the roman de la rose. As most of my palette painting their execution and rendering is closer to art brut that , say, a painting in full oil with medium on a gessoed canvas, of course, so this is a part that forms a group aside in my work, as a technique, but is fully integrated as far as philosophy is concerned.

"Anima leaving the scene" is another oil on canvas representing one of my favourite themes which is the devastation that the evil or rather the archetypes contained inside human psyche can produce, leaving the scene on fire and with visible damage both psychic and physical, the Anima is returning to where she came from , the peace of our centred personality, and just disappears as she had appeared in the first place, quite obviously freely referring to CG Jung here, as far as the anima and archetypes topics are concerned. The fabric of this canvas is particular and gives it a raw aspect that doesn't appear on a smoother one, this is part of the raw and savage look of the scene in general .

Bientôt se déroulera une nouvelle exposition à Liverdun, dans laquelle j'aurai l'honneur de présenter mon travail récent... mais pas seulement le mien, venez également découvrir les univers de Benoit Mayencourt, artiste belge talentueux, et de Rebecka Rodosek, que souvenez vous j'ai déjà interviewé ici, une artiste slovène.
